Description

This is an archival photographic print of the Venice California Pier, the image was taken in the 1930s. It is super sharp and shows a tremendous amount of detail because it was taken on an 8” x 10” film camera positioned in a blimp hovering over the coast. The Venice Pier, built by Abbot Kinney in 1905 at the end of Windward Ave, is featured in the foreground. Proudly displaying the rides and attractions that made it a popular destination for the whole family.

Scan the roads in the area to pick out Windward Circle, Venice Boulevard and Abbot Kinney Boulevard, as well as the recently filled in Rialto and Grand Canal. Don’t miss the open farmland of Mar Vista in the distance. Surprisingly Venice is remarkably the same as it ever was. The street layout and some of the old buildings remain and just look at the amount of people! It was as popular then as it is now.

This is a contemporary photographic print of vintage image taken in the 1030s on an 8 x 10 camera curteosy of the Surfing Cowboys® archive. It is professionally printed on acid-free, archival paper. We offer it framed and matted for display.

Frame Size : 42 inches wide x 35 inches high
