This is a functional Swiss Military Bike ("Militarvelo") dating from World War II. The Swiss Army Bike is iconic for the Swiss people, as the bicycle infantry was phased out in 2001. Bikes dating from the war era are quite rare outside of Switzerland. Like all bikes of its time, this one comes equipped with a leather briefcase and toolkit embossed with the Swiss cross. Though the bike is still in good working condition, it is quite heavy by modern standards. But its bell still works. Like everything the Swiss produce, this bike is as solid as the Frank and as reliable as the army!
