Capitals from the Tops of Venice Beach Columns, Pair

Buy an original piece of Venice history. These are from the tops of the Venice columns. Cast metal sculptures can still be seen lining the sides of Windward Ave and around the neighborhood.

Created in 1904 by Felix Peano, an Italian sculptor who was hired by Abbot Kinney to add artistic details to Venice of America. Inspired by the classic style of Rome and the vision of Abbot Kinney, Peano (who was from Parma Italy) used the likeness of a local Venice girl named Nettie Bouck and Mr Abbot Kinney himself to create the faces.
