OP Airbrushed Surfboard, 1970s
What we have to say:USA 1970s During the 1970s airbrushed surfboards were an art form unto themselves. An expression of individuality in a multi-million dollar industry. Imagine the cool factor of surfing on a one-off piece of art.
Op Sunwear was started in the 1960s and became one of the largest surf clothing brands in the U.S.A. Early airbrushed OP boards such as this one were used as shop display items. This board has an unusual double-winger pintail and artwork by Jack Myer.
Great lines, fun use of color, unique artwork and an energy that captures an era.
