Convertible Danish Daybed Couch

Of all the daybeds we've had over the years this is by far one of the best. Usually daybeds are a compromise. Not really all that comfortable as a couch and not perfect as a daybed either. This is really great in either position.

As a couch it has an upholstered back that sits at the depth it should to make this both functional and comfortable... measure it against any couch from this period and it will come up a winner. As a day bed it also gets an A+. One of the frequent problems with the typical cushion daybeds are the arms... you just can't get away from them. They're always at your head and feet when your trying to sleep. Well whoever designed this daybed couch thought of everything.

First of all it's upholstered and has webbing and springs... not just a cushion. Second the arms are where they should be when you use it as a couch but when you open it as a daybed the seat pulls out, legs pull down and voila there are no arms to bang your head or feet into when you sleep.

We've had this piece completely stripped down to the frame and rebuilt so it has new foam, new batting, and new stain resistant fabric. The wood frame is teak. We believe it was originally made in the 1950s, 60s or 70s.

77 3/4" at the arms, 70 1/2" wide on the cushion. The bed opens to a single size.
